Glam Chandelier

Our 2016 kitchen of the year didn't skimp on chic fixtures from Hudson Valley Lighting. A Lewis chandelier brightens the Leyden and banquette sconces add to the pure sunlight.

TOLE CHANDELIER

From the kitchen of fashion designer Veronica Swanson Beard's Long Island house, the seats, with cushions in a Schumacher stripe, and dining table are by McGuire, the tole chandelier is classic, and the flooring is oak.

A CLUSTER OF PENDANTS

The walnut-veneer kitchen island in Paris and cabinetry are custom created, the stools are by Mater Design, and the pendant lights are by Tom Dixon; the ovens and fridge are by Gaggenau, along with the sink fittings are by Franke.

1920S ENGLISH PENDANTS

In this Connecticut kitchen, the island has a top of honed Carrara marble, the wall tiles are by Waterworks, the stove is Viking, and the stools are by York Street Studio; the 19th-century Windsor seat is a family room, and also the 1920s English pendants are out of BK Antiques, look more to website.

LANTERNS

In the kitchen of an Upstate New York ranch, also a root table located at an upstate New York auction was fitted with a glass top, the Josef Hoffmann chairs are covered in a classic Larsen fabric, the ceiling integrates beams from a 19th-century Pennsylvania barn as well as the lights are by Isamu Noguchi.

Industrial Pendants

Three is not necessarily a crowd. At a mountain getaway, a trio of Shaw pendants by Urban Electric Co. hang within the custom island.

SLEEK VINTAGE PENDANTS

At a London townhouse, the kitchen cabinetry by Plain English is painted in Pure Grey 6 by Papers and Paints, the 1955 pendant lights are by Serge Mouille, the wall tiles are by Neisha Crosland and the floor is made of three types of limestone.

MODERN BREAKFAST NOOK LIGHT FIXTURE

In Palm Springs, this breakfast room's Saarinen dining table and seats are by Knoll, the painting is by Martin Sniper and the light fixture is by Artemide.

Painted Pendant

To improve a period home's refined kitchen, designer Nina Farmer customized an Urban Electric Co. pendant. The fixture is tied by A coat of Farrow & Ball's Stony Ground to the rest of the subdued room.
